About this release
Controlled continues Indi-Glo Blue’s exploration of modern institutions, shifting the focus from the existence of systems to the ways they preserve themselves. Across four synth-punk tracks, the EP examines carefully managed language, subtle pressure and the quiet reassurance that everything is under control, even when it clearly isn’t. Delivered with dry humour, repetition and sharp observation, the songs find tension in everyday bureaucracy rather than dramatic confrontation.
Background
Although released as a standalone EP, Controlled naturally follows the themes introduced by the project’s earlier work. Rather than asking how systems are built, these songs examine how they are maintained through procedure, messaging and carefully controlled communication. The writing became more restrained, relying less on direct criticism and more on observation, allowing the listener to recognise familiar patterns hidden inside ordinary language and routine interactions.
