Bus Window Thoughts

FIZZY VEINS

The view barely changes.
Somehow it never feels quite the same.

Bus Window Thoughts is about the quiet space between leaving work and getting home. A familiar route, a familiar seat and the kind of thoughts that only seem to arrive when you’re looking out of a window with nowhere else to be.

Bus Window Thoughts

WORDS

Back seat, left side, usual spot
Window’s scratched, still see a lot
Engine hum just fills the gaps
Same route out, no change to that

Traffic lights hold us longer than they should
Driver sighs like we all would
Someone scrolling two seats down
Screen lights up their whole face blue

Stops keep coming, people swap out
No one really looks about

Bus window thoughts, drift past slow
Same old roads that I already know
Watch it move, don’t say much
Let it pass, don’t overthink stuff

Rain hits glass, lines start to bend
Wipe a patch, then leave it again
Someone presses stop too late
Driver brakes, slight head shake

My stop coming, I don’t stand yet
Let it roll just a second more
Bell goes off, I move at last
Same pavement as before

Bus window thoughts, drift past slow
Same old roads that I already know
Watch it move, don’t say much
Let it pass, don’t overthink stuff

Bus window thoughts, drift past slow
Same old roads that I already know
Watch it move, don’t say much
Let it pass, don’t overthink stuff
