Attention is required.
Entertainment makes it easier.
Please Remain Entertained is PRE at its most accommodating. Comfort, distraction and reassurance are offered continuously, while the distinction between entertainment and compliance quietly disappears. Shopping, advertising, social media and sponsored optimism all serve the same useful purpose: keeping the audience occupied, responsive and safely within the signal. PRE asks very little in return. Continued attention will be sufficient.
Citizens
Your entertainment levels are critically low
Please remain calm
Please remain available
Tonight
Comfort has been authorized
Long days beneath fluorescent skies
Silent rooms and tired eyes
Waiting for the weekend cure
Scrolling for something pure
Shopping bags and payday dreams
Everything brighter than it seems
Plastic futures, polished lies
Selling weather for your mind
The speakers hum above the crowd
Too cheerful and a little loud
Somewhere behind the smiling screens
The machine still needs believers
Stay awake
Stay amused
Stay responsive
Stay approved
Please Remain Entertained
Your Compliance Brings Comfort
Please Remain Entertained
Mental Balance Restored
Please Remain Entertained
The signal never ends
Please Remain Entertained
Your satisfaction is our friend
Food court prophets bless the rain
Airport lounges numb the brain
Cinema saints and arcade kings
Selling joy in tiny things
The adverts know your favourite fear
They whisper softly in your ear
No need to suffer, no need to wait
Happiness ships in standard weight
Escalators climbing slow
Nowhere certain left to go
Every corridor the same
Different logos, same refrain
Reminder
Customer fulfilment remains our highest priority
Livestream faces flicker bright
Artificial Friday nights
Perfect strangers selling grace
Through ring-light halos on their face
Every memory gets revised
Colour corrected, optimized
Past and future carefully staged
Sponsored youth and managed rage
Somewhere beneath the neon haze
People disappear for days
Trading silence for the feed
Feeding every private need
No complaints
No delay
Please continue
To obey
Please Remain Entertained
Your Compliance Brings Comfort
Please Remain Entertained
Mental Balance Restored
Please Remain Entertained
The signal never ends
Please Remain Entertained
Your satisfaction is our friend

Remain
Remain
Maybe we were always here
Buying comfort, renting fear
Waiting for the perfect sign
That everything would turn out fine
Maybe every glowing screen
Only mirrors what we’ve been
Lonely hearts beneath machine light
Trying to make the signal right
The city flickers after dark
Tiny windows, tiny sparks
And somewhere through the static rain
We sing the slogan once again
