Everything still fits.
Just never in quite the same place.
Fracture Lines is about losing the sense that your own experience is arriving as one continuous thing. Familiar movements feel slightly displaced, voices arrive at the wrong moment and every attempt to settle into a single version of events shifts it again. Nothing completely breaks apart; it simply refuses to line up for long enough to feel certain.
Hold it together
Glass splits right across my face
Different angles, same mistake
I pick one and try to stay
But it shifts when I look away
Something’s off in how I feel
Like I’m watching, not for real
I keep trying to stay in one
But I come undone
Fracture lines through everything
Fracture lines in what you mean
I don’t land where I begin
I don’t know which side I’m in
Fracture lines… pulling wide
(Oh-oh) can’t decide
Step repeats but not the same
I don’t move how I just came
Your voice hits but feels delayed
Like it’s slightly out of place
I correct it as I go
Still it never locks in right
Every version that I try
Breaks before it holds
Fracture lines through everything
Fracture lines in what you said
I don’t land where I begin
Too many ways to bend
Fracture lines… pulling wide
(Oh-oh) can’t decide
If I force it into place
Will it hold or just give way?
Every piece I try to keep
Shifts the second that I breathe
Fracture lines won’t let me stay
Fracture lines in every frame
I don’t land, I don’t align
Nothing holds its shape in time
Fracture lines
…stay in one
