The latest addition to the Bard Records Listening Post is now available.

We’re highlighting “I Smile at Strangers”, a track from The Fault Archive.

Built around slow industrial electronics, restrained vocals and an unsettling sense of self-awareness, the song explores a simple but uncomfortable idea: how easy it is to appear calm, polite and ordinary while quietly losing sight of who you are underneath.

Rather than telling a story, the lyrics examine the slow compromises we make with ourselves. There are no dramatic moments or obvious villains, just an honest reflection on identity, guilt and the growing distance between the life we present and the one we actually live.

If you’re curious about the darker side of The Fault Archive, this is an excellent place to begin.
